A lifelong learner, Neal F. Perryman recognizes and appreciates the essential role educational institutions play and understands the complicated legal environment in which they operate.

Neal has provided counseling on labor and employment, litigation and compliance matters to educational institutions for more than 20 years. He has advised one of St. Louis’ largest public school districts, one of the area’s oldest and highest performing private schools, and top-ranked private and public universities.

While Neal enables his clients to take proactive steps to avoid litigation, he has successfully represented them in state and federal courts when claims have emerged. In 2014 he won a Title IX case of national significance. He acted as lead counsel for the defendant-university in both district court and on appeal.

Neal is Chair of Lewis Rice’s Litigation Department and serves on the Firm’s Management Committee. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, sits on the Board of Visitors for Southern Illinois University School of Law, and is Vice Chair of the Westminster College Board of Trustees. In 2016 he was honored with Westminster College’s Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award for his significant accomplishments and contributions to society.
